Help Save Tam's Historic Art
WPA art is treasured for both its intrinsic value and its place in America's past,
and a national movement is underway to restore important pieces.
The goal of Tam's Art Restoration Committee is to restore the mural and mosaics and
put them on permanent display as a gift for the school's 100th anniversary in 2008.
Your support will help make the dream come true, and you will share in giving Tam a
special centennial gift.

Looking Back
Tamalpais High School was a busy place in the 1930s. The country was suffering through
the Great Depression, but cultural life was rich, thanks to the government's Works Progress
Administration. The WPA employed artists to create works of art for public places, and
Tam was the site of several projects.
Anyone who has spent time at Tam during the past sixty years is familiar with the fountain
in Orange Court, but three more WPA pieces have been hidden from view for decades.
A spectacular mural oil painting and two mosaic panels
are in storage, but you can help bring them back to Tam.
